Springtail Starter Culture

NZ$20.00
sold out

Springtails are the clean up crew for Terrariums. They thrive in humid environments and feed on mold and decay.

These starter kits are enough to seed one terrarium or you can let them breed more over time to add to your next project.

They are living in bio-char horticultural charcoal and have been fed with a few grains of rice. Please do some research of how to keep them alive and look after them before purchasing.

Pickup from our studio in Paraparaumu or delivery around the Wellington region is preferred, as sometimes springtails can get hurt during long deliveries as the charcoal moves round and squashes them.

*Springtails can possibly be posted in a small container of spagham moss, or firmly packed charcoal, but either way is at the buyers risk, as they could potentially be squashed in the post journey.
