This large bat has a wingspan of up to 32cms. Widely distributed with large populations throughout South and South East Asia, from India to China to Thailand and Malaysia. This species of bat may be found in colonies of up to 50,000 individuals. They roost mainly in caves. their flight is slow and low and their diet is mainly feeding from nectar.
