Species: Haplopelma minax

Origin: Thailand/Cambodia

Description:

Aka - Lesser Thailand Bird Eating Tarantula.

This Tarantula is an agressive, burrowing creature that is often consumed by locals of the area. It hides in its burrow and only emerges a few hours in the night for a prey of small creatures passing by.

This non-poisonous spider is a velvety brownish black in colour. The males typically live between 2-4 years while the females can live for up to 12 years.

They can take a chunk of human skin out at a bite with their over-sized fangs, but their venom is very mild so death is very unlikely. It is more common to delevop an infection at the bite site.

Frame Size: 20x20cmxD5cm
